White Rose Farm with Sally Voris
White Rose Farm, a 132-acre biodynamic farm in northwestern Carroll County, focuses on connecting people with the beauty, bounty, and balance of nature. Sally Voris, along with her staff and volunteers, grow and sell premium vegetables, flowers, herbs, free-range pork, chicken and eggs, local unpasteurized honey and homemade jams and jellies. White Rose offers seasonal events, full moon celebrations, memberships, Community Sponsored Agriculture (CSA) shares, and volunteer opportunities.
This year they will offer educational programs about biodynamic agriculture, about simple practices, mental, physical and emotional, that you can do to participate in healing the earth. They will also teach specific skills: raising chickens, building compost; keeping earthworms; canning; preserving; gardening and drying herbs and flowers.
A Mindful Yoga Studio
A Mindful Yoga Studio (AMYS) offers the practices of Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Yoga Nidra and other related disciplines as catalysts for personal growth, enrichment and conscious evolution in Carroll County. Helen Resop, Tim Hurley and Joe Ingber have come together in partnership to offer these practices in close alignment with their origins within the ancient wisdom traditions of India. AMYS is dedicated to promoting the fullest potential of each individual being by offering these practices appropriately as pathways toward the encounter of one’s inner-most experience.
A Mindful Yoga Studio is located in the Historic Times Building at 63 East Main Street in Westminster, Maryland (across from the old firehouse clock tower). The studio is on the second floor in Suite 7. The studio offers a variety of Yoga Asana classes that range in levels of challenge and specific therapeutic intention, as well as Group Meditation and Yoga Nidra Practice weekly. Outdoor community Yoga practice events are offered seasonally.
With over 25 years of collective teaching experience, it is the intention of the directors of the studio to offer these practices with integrity and authenticity in order to promote the fullest potential of each individual. As the words of Yogi Joseph Lepage convey quite beautifully, “We can view the physical practices of Yoga as a drop of water falling into a pool. It begins with the physical asanas and expands outward as healing, concentric circles, bringing balance and harmony to body, mind, and spirit. This is the Yoga process.”
