Acupuncture is the oldest and most commonly practiced system of medicine in the world and is used both as a form of preventative medicine and as a therapy for a wide variety of acute and chronic disorders. This ancient method of healing is based on natural laws describing the movement of energy in nature and the body. This life energy, called Qi, flows through the body in channels, like rivers flowing through the
earth. Health is promoted when the Qi in the body is abundant and moving smoothly.

Thin, sterile needles are used to move and direct the Qi, addressing underlying imbalances. The goal of acupuncture is to promote harmony in the body and support the individual’s innate drive towards healing. Its effectiveness has been supported by both the NIH and the World Health Organization, which has endorsed it for over 50 conditions, including stress, digestive disorders, depression and anxiety, allergies, sleep disorders, addictions, and headaches, as well as menstrual and menopausal symptoms.
